MIDDLETOWN, R.I. – September 28, 2022 – The Dean College field hockey team was defeated by Salve Regina 10-0 in a non-conference road game Wednesday evening.

Dean (0-8) resumes Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play on Friday at Anna Maria at 6 p.m. Salve Regina (4-4) travels to Endicott on Saturday for a Commonwealth Coast Conference contest at 1 p.m.

The Seahawks got on the board 3:05 into the first quarter on a goal from Kira Spedden.

Salve Regina then scored five times in the second, once in the third and three in the fourth.

Shannon Kennedy led all players with four goals and an assist. Georgia Costello recorded one goal and three assists.

Dean junior goalie Mackenzie Fillion (New Bedford, Mass.) finished with a career-high 23 saves. Madison Gilbert (2), Meredith Landers (1) and Sydnee Ramos (1) each chipped in with defensive saves.
