FRANKLIN, Mass. – September 25, 2022 – The Dean College field hockey team was edged by the University of Maine-Farmington, 1-0, in non-conference action at Grant Field on Sunday.
Dean (0-7) travels to Salve Regina for a 7 p.m. contest on Wednesday night. UMaine-Farmington (1-4) plays at Bowdoin also on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
UMF scored the only goal of the game in the final seconds of the second quarter when they were granted a penalty stroke. Senior Mya Daniels (Limington, Maine) successfully converted for her first goal of the season.
Dean junior goalie 
Mackenzie Fillion (New Bedford, Mass.) had six saves in the loss. Sophomore Alicia Bridges (Livermore Falls, Maine) earned her first win of the season with one save for the Beavers.
UMF held an 12-4 advantage in shots and a 7-3 margin in penalty corners.
