Sztyler-Magee's Hat Trick Not Enough as Colby-Sawyer Scores Late

NEW LONDON, N.H. - September 21, 2022 - Dean College senior Jazzy Sztyler-Magee (Burlington, Conn.) recorded a hat trick, but Colby-Sawyer scored with less than a minute to play to defeat the Bulldogs 4-3 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Wednesday afternoon.

Dean (1-3-2, 0-2-1 GNAC) travels to Emmanuel on Saturday for a 3:30 p.m. contest with the Saints. Colby-Sawyer (3-4-1, 2-1 GNAC) hosts Lasell on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.

The Chargers got on the board first on a penalty kick that was converted by senior Bridget O'Connell (Peabody, Mass.) at 10:04.

Sztyler-Magee knotted the score at 1-1 in the 17th minute with her first tally of the game.

Colby-Sawyer retook the lead in the 27th minute with a goal from junior Kara Keiper (Peterborough, N.H.).

The home team wasted little time in the second half to increase the lead to 3-1, scoring 1:06 into the frame. O'Connell notched her second of the game.

Sztyler-Magee brought the Bulldogs even with two more goals, scoring in the 56th and 79th minutes.

The match looked to be heading to a draw, but Colby-Sawyer senior Marissa Cournoyer (Concord, N.H.) hit a one-timer at the top of the box into the back of the net with 47 seconds showing on the clock to secure the 4-3 win.

Sophomore Haley Gaunt (Johnston, R.I.) made 15 saves in the loss for the Bulldogs. Senior goalkeeper Alexis LeBreton (Bangor, Maine) had three stops for the Chargers.
