FRANKLIN, Mass. – September 10, 2022 – The Dean College women's soccer team lost a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opener to Lasell 2-0, on Saturday afternoon at Grant Field.  

Dean (0-2-1, 0-1 GNAC) will step out of conference on Wednesday to host Mitchell at 4 p.m. Lasell (1-3, 1-0 GNAC) hosts Emmanuel on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

Lasell scored a goal in each half and held a 25-2 margin in total shots.

Freshman Sarah Lynch (Warwick, R.I.) got the Lasers on the board in the 25th minute off a feed from sophomore Priscilla Martinelli (Plymouth, Mass.).

The Bulldogs had a great scoring chance in the 55th minute when sophomore Jazlyn Estrella (Coventry, R.I.) headed a dangerous ball towards goal, but the chance was thwarted when a Lasell defender saved the ball from going in the net.

The Lasers doubled their advantage in 62nd minute on a free kick goal from Emily DeHart (Farmington, Conn.) from about 25 yards out.

Dean goalkeeper Haley Gaunt (Johnston, R.I.) made eight saves in the loss. Freshman Elizabeth DaSilva (Somerville, Mass.) made one stop to earn the shutout.
