FRANKLIN, Mass. – April 27, 2022 – The Dean College baseball team was defeated by Curry College, 6-2, in non-conference action Wednesday afternoon at the Longley Athletic Complex.
Dean (7-25) will host Western New England tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. Curry (11-19) plays at Lasell tomorrow with first pitch at 7 p.m.
The Colonels hit a pair of two-run homers in the first to take a 4-0 lead. Senior Jason Leonard (Dedham, Mass.) and junior Conor Hanlon (Beverly, Mass.) each launched their third home run of the season.
Dean got a run in the bottom of the first on a sacrifice fly by senior
Ryan Gallagher (Methuen, Mass.).
Curry responded in its next at-bat when freshman Tommy Marshall (Hanson, Mass.) knocked in a run with an RBI single.
The visitors tacked on a run in the fourth on a wild pitch.
The Bulldogs brought in a run on a bases loaded walk in the fifth, but the rally was halted as Curry held on for the 6-2 win.
Garret Fosher (Exeter, N.H.) was credited with the win with two innings, one hit and two strikeouts for Curry. Senior
Tyler McAloon (Berkley, Mass.) threw two innings of one-hit relief for the Bulldogs.
Six Colonels finished with two hits as the team had 14 on the day.

Brian Dovidio (Ramsey, N.J.) each went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Dean.
