FRANKLIN, Mass. – March 24, 2022 – The Dean College men's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match to Emerson on Thursday evening. Emerson won by scores of 25-14, 24-11 and 25-9.
Dean (1-17, 0-10 GNAC) travels to Lasell on Sunday for a GNAC tri-match with Elms. First match begins at 11 a.m. Emerson (4-15, 2-8 GNAC) will play a tri-match at Wentworth with Colby-Sawyer on Saturday.

Rodrigo Monteiro (Praia, Cape Verde) led the team with five kills. Junior
Nicholas Carlson (Warwick, R.I.) finished with three kills. Senior
Traijan Powell (Sierra Vista, Ariz.) collected a team best seven digs. Junior setter
Tyler Martins (East Providence, R.I.) registered 11 assists and four digs.
The Lions received a 17-kill performance from sophomore Neiko Pittman (Santa Clarita, Calif.). He hit .520 to go with a match-high 11 digs and five aces. Freshman Bayden Slavik (Chicago, Ill.) recorded 18 assists, three kills and three digs.
Emerson hit .500 with 17 kills on 30 attempts in the first set. Dean hit the ball well too, posting eight kills and no errors. Pittman had eight kills to help the visitors to the 25-14 win.
The Lions raced out to a 10-1 score in the second and cruised to a 25-11 victory. Emerson recorded just nine kills but benefited from eight Dean attack errors.
The first portion of the third set was back-and-forth with five ties leading to an 8-8 score. Emerson then finished the set on a 17-1 run to secure the 3-0 sweep.
