Baseball Falls to Curry, 6-4

Milton, Mass.- The Dean College Baseball team dropped a tight non-conference matchup with Curry College on Sunday, falling 6-4 after Curry broke open a 3-3 tie in the sixth.

Curry struck first, plating a single run in both the second and third innings to take a 2-0 lead. The Bulldogs responded in the bottom of the fourth, getting one back when Andrew Sullivan (Agawam, Mass.) scored an unearned run to cut the deficit in half.

The Colonels responded in the bottom half of the inning with a solo homer by Joan Peralta (Brooklyn, N.Y.) to push the lead back to two. Dean rallied, notching two runs in the top of half of the fifth on a Ryan Gallagher (Methuen, Mass.) double that scored Brian Dovidio (Ramsey, N.J.) and Josh Cerretani (Peabody, Mass.).

Curry came right back in the bottom of the fifth and scored two of their own, taking a 5-3 lead that they never relinquished.

Tyler McAloon (Berkeley, Mass.) started the game for the Bulldogs, going five innings in the loss and striking out five, while allowing five earned runs on 11 hits.  Sullivan led the Bulldogs with three hits and two runs scored. Cerretani also added two hits, while Gallagher and Ryan Desmond (Long Island, N.Y.) had the Bulldog's RBI's.

Dean is back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Massachusetts Maritime for a 3:30 p.m. first pitch.
