NEW LONDON, N.H. - March 19, 2022 - The Dean College women's lacrosse team was defeated in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) contest at Colby-Sawyer, 17-6, in a shortened game as the teams battled through fog, rain, hail and a one hour thunder delay. The game was called after three quarters of action.
Dean (0-5, 0-3 GNAC) travels to Albertus Magnus on Tuesday. Colby-Sawyer improves to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the GNAC.
Through fog and rain, the home team led 7-3 after the first quarter. In the second, Colby-Sawyer added to its lead by outscoring Dean 8-0. Late in the second, with less than six minutes on the clock, the game entered a weather delay that lasted about an hour. The teams resumed action and became official after three quarters of play when the game was called.

Nina Medeiros (Fairhaven, Mass.) led the team with four ground balls and three caused turnovers.

Junior Sydney Stevens (Laconia, N.H.) paced the Chargers with six goals and four assists. Hannah Marquis (Weare, N.H.) contributed four goals and two assists. First-year Heather Hanson (Marston Mills, Mass.) registered three goals, an assist and eight ground balls.
