MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Dean College baseball team concluded its spring break trip to Myrtle Beach on Friday.
Dean (0-7) will return home to play at Coast Guard on Sunday.
Wednesday - York 25, Dean 3
The Spartans put 13 on the board in the first, added a run in the second before scoring eight times in fourth.
Dean broke through with a couple of runs in the top of the sixth on an error and a passed ball.
York responded with three in the bottom of the sixth.
The Bulldogs added a run in the seventh on a bases loaded walk by
Andrew Sullivan (Agawam, Mass.).
Tommy Troy Jr. (Norwalk, Conn.) had two of the Bulldogs' five hits.
Sophomore
Owen Liscio (Norwalk, Conn.) threw a clean inning of relief with two strikeouts.
Wednesday - York 11, Dean 8
York led 6-0 after three innings before Dean got on the board. The Bulldogs plated a run in the bottom of the third on a
Josh Cerretani (Peabody, Mass.) double to the gap.
The Spartans increased their lead to 8-1 in the top of the fifth, but Dean answered with a six spot in the bottom half to pull within a run. Cerretani knocked in another run, while
Brian Dovidio (Ramsey, N.J.) brought home a pair with a single to center.
York created separation in the sixth with three runs to be in front 11-7.
Dean added a run in the seventh on a Liscio RBI single, but the rally would stop there.
Cerretani finished 3-for-4, while Liscio and
Matty Troy (Norwalk, Conn.) added two hits apiece.
Senior
Austin Crowley (Chicopee, Mass.) tossed a scoreless inning of relief with a strikeout.
Friday - Penn State Berks 7, Dean 1
The Nittany Lions scored single runs in the first, second and fourth before doubling their lead with three in the fifth.
Dean put a run on the board in the seventh on an RBI ground out by
Tommy Troy Jr.
Penn State answered with a run in the bottom half of the inning and secured the 7-1 win.
Six Bulldogs had a hit on the day.
