FRANKLIN, Mass. – February 5, 2022 – Regis junior Pam Gonzalez (Revere, Mass.) poured in 18 points to help the Pride earn a 47-35 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) road win at Dean.
Dean (2-11, 0-9 GNAC) returns to the court on Monday with a 7 p.m. tip at Anna Maria. Regis (8-7, 7-2 GNAC) hosts Johnson & Wales on Monday at 7:30 p.m.

Alexah Potter (East Hartford, Conn.) led Dean with her fifth double-double of the season. She posted 14 points on 6-of-11 shooting and grabbed 15 rebounds. First-year
Tori Viau (Johnston, R.I.) added nine points in 26 minutes off the bench.
Gonzalez was 6-of-15 from the floor and 4-of-9 from beyond the arc to lead the Pride. She added six rebounds, three assists and three steals. Senior Valerie Whalen (Stoughton, Mass.) finished with a game best 17 rebounds to go with nine points and five steals.
Catherine Thomas (Woodbridge, Conn.) and Potter scored the opening two buckets of the game to give Dean a quick 4-0 lead. Regis clamped down on defense and did not allow another Bulldogs field goal for the rest of the quarter. The Pride went 5-of-12 from the field in the frame and held a 12-5 lead after 10 minutes.
In a high scoring second quarter, the Bulldogs erased the deficit and eventually took an 18-15 lead after back-to-back baskets by Potter with 4:25 on the clock. Trailing 19-18, Gonzalez took over for the Pride and hit three consecutive three-pointers to send Regis into halftime with a 27-19 lead.
Dean turned up the defensive pressure in the third and held the Pride off the scoreboard for the first six minutes. After a Potter three-pointer tied the game at 27-27, Regis received a Whalen layup and a trey by Shannon Kelley (Quincy, Mass.) to take a 32-27 advantage after 30 minutes.
The Pride carried the momentum of the third into the fourth and pushed their lead to 10, 39-29, with 4:40 left to play. Two three-pointers by Viau, sandwiched around a Regis made jumper pulled Dean to within 41-35. Gonzalez and Whalen combined to score the next six points to lift the Pride to the 47-35 victory.
