PROVIDENCE, R.I. - February 3, 2022 - The Dean College women's basketball team fell at Johnson & Wales, 47-30, in a low-scoring Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) tilt Thursday evening.
Dean (2-10, 0-8 GNAC) will wrap up the week with its third game in five days on Saturday against Regis at 1pm in Pieri Gymnasium. JWU (2-13, 2-7 GNAC) travels to Lasell on Saturday for a 2 p.m. tip.

Catherine Thomas (Woodbridge, Conn.) led Dean in the scoring column for the second game in a row with 10 points. First-year
Tori Andrewski (North Sutton, N.H.) tallied seven points and a team-high nine rebounds. Senior
Sitaara Muhammad (Cambridge, Mass.) registered four points, six rebounds and four steals.
Maiyah Johnson was the lone Wildcat in double digits with 10 points. Sydney Butera posted nine points and a game-high 12 rebounds in 28 minutes off the bench.
The home team outscored the Bulldogs 16-5 in the first frame. Dean was limited to two field goals, both by Thomas, in the first 10 minutes of action.
JWU increased its lead in the second thanks to 46.7% shooting and 3-of-5 from beyond the arc. The Wildcats led 34-14 at the half.
Dean won the third quarter by a score of 10-7 after holding JWU to 3-14 shooting. Andrewski had four points and four rebounds in the frame.
Each team scored six points in the fourth as both defenses did their job holding the opponent to less than 22% shooting.
JWU held a 44-37 advantage in rebounding and made 6-of-9 free throws, while Dean was 6-of-16 from the charity stripe.
