Dean Falls at Norwich, 74-50

NORTHFIELD, Vt. – February 12, 2022 – The Dean College women's basketball team lost a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) road game at Norwich, 74-50, Saturday afternoon.   

Dean (2-14, 0-12 GNAC) welcomes Albertus Magnus on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. Norwich (9-11, 7-6 GNAC) hosts Rivier on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Junior Alexah Potter (East Hartford, Conn.) recorded her fourth-straight double-double and eighth of the season with 17 points and 14 rebounds. First-year Tori Viau (Johnston, R.I.) led the Bulldogs with 19 points. She was 7-16 from the floor and 5-12 from beyond the arc.

Norwich was led by Haley Brewster's 26 points. She made all nine of her free throw attempts and added seven steals. Hannah Stitely scored 17 points, while Skyler Burzynski was the third Cadet in double figures with 11.

The home team doubled up the Bulldogs in the first quarter, 22-11, after making 10-of-19 shots. Stitely led all players with eight points in the frame.

Dean won the second quarter, 16-14, thanks to a strong effort by Potter and her eight points. Half of Norwich's points in the quarter came from the free throw line.

The Cadets expanded their lead in the third by shooting 53.3% from the floor and making 8-of-9 free throws. Brewster poured in 14 points to lead Norwich to a 25-15 margin in the frame.

Norwich held a 13-8 advantage in the fourth en route to the 74-50 final.

Dean outrebounded Norwich 42-31. Norwich was 17-of-19 from the charity stripe.
