FRANKLIN, Mass. – October 5, 2022 – The Dean College field hockey team was defeated by Lasell, 6-0, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at a misty Grant Field Wednesday afternoon.
Dean (0-10, 0-5 GNAC) continues its 5-game homestand on Friday with a 3:30 p.m. GNAC contest against Elms. Lasell (7-4, 4-1 GNAC) returns home on Saturday to host Anna Maria at noon.
The first 10 minutes went scoreless before Lasell put two on the board in the next two minutes of action. Junior Lily Stark (Saco, Maine) and senior Sheridan Blaha (Waltham, Mass.) each scored for the Lasers.
The visitors added a goal in the third off the stick of Stark to take a 3-0 lead into halftime.
Stark found the back of the cage twice more in the third quarter to finish with four tallies, while Blaha tacked on the Lasers' sixth goal in the fourth to end the game with a couple of scores.

Mackenzie Fillion (New Bedford, Mass.) finished with 10 saves. Senior 
Zoe Coleman (Warwick, R.I.) and sophomore 
Madison Gilbert (Sanbornton, N.H.) each chipped in with a defensive save.
Lasell goalie Abby Boudreau (Wakefield, Mass.) worked the first three quarters to earn the win, while McKenna Ecker (Liverpool, N.Y.) played the final 15 minutes to combine for the shutout.
