Women's Basketball Falls at Albertus Magnus

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – January 26, 2022 – The Dean College women's basketball team fell at Albertus Magnus, 75-27, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) game Wednesday night.

Dean falls to 2-7 overall and 0-5 in the GNAC. The Bulldogs' next game against Lasell has been moved to Friday at 6 p.m. Albertus Magnus improves to 9-8 overall and 8-2 in conference play. The Falcons are currently scheduled to host Johnson & Wales on Saturday.

First-year Tori Andrewski (North Sutton, N.H.) paced the Bulldogs with 11 points to go with eight rebounds. First-year Catherine Thomas (Woodbridge, Conn.) added six points and nine rebounds, while first-year Lena Muraski (Manchester, Conn.) also scored six points and grabbed five boards.

Jakara Murray-Leach led Albertus Magnus with 19 points. Amanda Zdru scored 17 and had six steals, while Carsyn Langhorn poured in 15 points.

The Falcons protected home court and outscored Dean 20-2 in the first quarter and 22-4 in the second quarter. The third quarter was played closely with the Falcons holding a slim 12-9 margin in the frame. Andrewski scored five of her 11 points to lead the Bulldogs. Albertus Magnus added to its lead with 21-12 discrepancy in the fourth.

Dean had a 46-38 advantage in rebounding. Albertus Magnus shot 45.7% from the field and held the Bulldogs to 18.9%.
