Standish, Maine- The Saint Joseph's (ME) Monks jumped on the Dean Bulldogs early, racing to a 3-0 sweep on Wednesday night.
The Bulldogs entered the contest as winners of two straight after knocking off Anna Maria and Mass. Maritime in the last week. Their win streak was snapped in Standish, as the Monks controlled play from the outset, jetting out to an 14-4 lead in set one and cruising to a 25-7 win.Â
The second set featured back and forth action at the outset, as Dean pulled even at 8 on a kill from
Anabella Driscoll (Plymouth, Mass.). Saint Joseph's scored the next three points to wrestle momentum back and ended the set with a 25-14 victory.Â
The Bulldogs fell behind 7-0 in the final set and never recovered as the Monks completed the sweep with 25-13 score.Â
Emily Larouche (Agawam, Mass.)
 led the Bulldogs in kills, finishing with two and five digs.
Amanda Payne (Millis, Mass.) also chipped in five digs, while Driscoll finished with five assists.Â
Up next for Dean, the Bulldogs travel to Colby-Sawyer on Friday for an 8 p.m. contest.Â
