NEW HAVEN, Conn. – October 16, 2021 – The Dean College women's soccer team fell at Albertus Magnus, 6-1, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match Saturday afternoon.
Dean falls to 3-7-2 overall and 3-7 in the GNAC. The Bulldogs play at Rivier on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. Albertus Magnus improves to 8-5 overall and 6-4 in conference play. The Falcons travel to Anna Maria on Wednesday for a 4 p.m. start.
Albertus Magnus senior Katherine Raposo (Warwick, R.I.) put the home team on top in the 13th minute with her team leading eighth goal of the season.
The Falcons doubled their lead in the 31st minute when junior Keegan Riccio (West Haven, Conn.) set up senior teammate Haley Andrews (Prospect, Conn.) who deposited her seventh goal of the season in the back of the net.
Dean cut the deficit in half in the final seconds of the first half. Junior
Jazzy Sztyler-Magee (Burlington, Conn.) put home her third goal of the season with seven seconds showing on the clock to pull the Bulldogs within one heading into the halftime break.
Albertus Magnus responded right out of the break, scoring 57 seconds into the second. Raposo finished a pass from senior Jordan Kikosicki (East Haven, Conn.) to retake a 2-goal advantage over the Bulldogs.
In the 56th minute, Raposo notched the hat trick to give the Falcons a 4-1 lead. The goal was assisted by Andrews.
Albertus Magnus added goals by sophomore Tyana Jack (Bridgeport, Conn.) and first-year Ashley Shaw (Milford, Conn.) to make the final score 6-1.

Haley Gaunt (Johnston, R.I.) allowed four goals and made 11 saves in 65 minutes. First-year
Morgan Rojas (West Greenwich, R.I.) allowed two goals and had three saves in the final 25 minutes.
Sophomore goalie Michelle Mecca (Greenwood Lake, N.Y.) allowed one goal and made three saves to earn the win in 80 minutes of work. Sophomore Nicole Pracon (Derby, Conn.) worked the final 10 minutes.
