Football Holds on for 39-36 Win at Keystone

LA PLUME, Pa. - October 16, 2021 - The Dean College football team earned a 39-36 Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) road win at Keystone College on a rainy Saturday afternoon. 

Dean improves to 2-5 overall and 1-2 in the ECFC. The Bulldogs will play at Anna Maria next Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Keystone drops to 0-7 overall and 0-3 in the conference. The Giants travel to Castleton next Saturday for a noon kickoff. 

The Bulldogs totaled 416 yards of offense, while Keystone posted 346 yards. Dean had 26 first downs and the Giants converted 25.

Dean quarterback David Curry (Bethlehem, Ga.) went 20-32 for 200 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He added a 53-yard rushing touchdown and finished with 82 yards on the ground. Junior Ki'sean Bullard (Miami, Fla.) was the Bulldogs' top back today with 94 rushing yards and a touchdown. Senior Mike Bethune Jr. (New Haven, Conn.) also had a rushing score. Sophomore tight end Jordan Mason (McDonough, Ga.) caught both of Curry's TD passes. He finished with four catches for 75 yards. 

Sophomore Dre Kidd (Manassas, Va.) turned in another solid performance on the defensive side of the ball. He led the team with nine tackles to go with an interception and a pair of break-ups.

Tom Roach (Burlington City, N.J.) went 18-41 through the air with 254 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. Wide receiver Javier Tazza (Burlington City, N.J.) hauled in the two touchdowns receptions from Roach. Freshman running back Mujaheed Muhammad (Philadelphia, Pa.) scored twice on the ground. 

On the defensive side for the Giants, Sean Tocci (Lodi, N.J.) and Jerrel Springer (Brooklyn, N.Y.) had nine total tackles. Jamir Spencer-Smith (Burlington, N.J.) had one sack.
