FRANKLIN, Mass. – October 13, 2021 - The Dean College men's soccer team earned a 1-0 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) victory over Rivier on Wednesday afternoon at Lippert Field.
Dean improves to 3-9 overall and 2-6 in the GNAC. The Bulldogs play at Regis on Saturday at 1 p.m. Rivier drops to 3-9 overall and 1-7 in conference play. The Raiders travel to the University of Saint Joseph on Saturday for a 3 p.m. contest against the Blue Jays.
Despite an 11-4 shot advantage in the first half, the match went into the halftime break in a scoreless tie.
The Bulldogs were able to put together a couple of dangerous chances, early in the second half, before breaking through in the 58th minute. After a corner kick was sent in by junior

Reinorf Kusi (Mattapan, Mass.) found the bounding ball and attempted a bicycle kick that hit off the crossbar. The ball then found the foot of sophomore
Kazu Noguchi (Hyogo, Japan). He fired a high line drive into the far right side of the net past the diving keeper for the game-winner and his team leading fourth tally of the season.
The Raiders put together a couple of scoring opportunities in the final 10 minutes, but Dean senior goalkeeper
Bryce Antoch (Cranston, R.I.) turned aside each chance. Antoch finished with those two saves on the day.
Rivier goalie Sebastian Lembo (Nutley, N.J.) kept the Raiders close by making 12 saves.
Dean finished with a 25-11 (13-2 SOG) advantage in shots, while Rivier held a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.
