THE LEAD:
Manhattanville College broke open a close game with a five-goal second quarter and then pulled away in the third quarter as the visiting Valiants topped Dean College, 11-0, in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) field hockey action on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
After Dean gave up an early goal to start the game, things stayed 1-0 in favor of the visitors for the next 19 minutes until a flurry of five goals over the next ten minutes sent Manhattanville into halftime in front, 6-0.

Their offensive output continued for the first five minutes as the Valiants scored four more goals to put the game out of reach.

Both Ameerah Thomas and Lexi Crites each had three goals for Manhattanville, while Ava Panzer and Arnise King each scored twice.

Alexis Masse (Woonsocket, R.I.) finished with eight saves for the Bulldogs.

UP NEXT:
The Bulldogs are back in action on Tuesday when they host Becker College in NECC action. That game is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
