Seymour, Steiger Net 11 Kills in Bulldogs’ 3-0 Defeat to Trinity

FRANKLIN, Mass. – The Dean College women's volleyball team kept things close on Wednesday evening but ultimately fell short to Trinity College (Conn.) by a final score of 3-0. With the home loss, Dean dropped to 0-5 on the year, while the Bantams improved to 3-0.

How it Happened:
-Maddy Seymour (Simsbury, Conn.) gave Dean an early spark in the opening set, recording a kill from Emma Siniscalchi (Huntington, N.Y.) to put the Bulldogs on the board. Seymour continued to lead Dean's attack throughout the night, finishing with a team-high six kills.
-Trinity established an early advantage in the first set, but Dean continued to work offensively through Seymour and Angelina Steiger (Oxford, Mass.), who combined for 11 of Dean's 14 kills. Steiger added five kills while hitting .214 for the match.
-Dean showed more fight in the second set, with Siniscalchi and Lily Miller (Cape Cod, Mass.) helping direct the offense from the setter position. Siniscalchi finished with six assists and an ace, while Miller contributed five assists and an ace.
-At the net, Chloe Demaio (Needham, Mass.) provided a strong defensive presence for the Bulldogs. Demaio recorded a team-high three blocks, including two solo blocks, while also adding a kill.
-The Bulldogs continued to compete in the third set, with Steiger contributing kills and Seymour adding another kill as Dean tried to stay within striking distance. Julia Dommel (Beacon Falls, Conn.) also helped keep Dean in the match defensively, collecting a team-high six digs.
-Trinity ultimately pulled away to close out the third set, but Dean's defensive effort was led by Dommel and Cheyenne Sorel (Plainville, Conn.), who recorded six and three digs, respectively.
