KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Dean College softball team was defeated in their Tuesday double-header games in Kissimmee, Florida. They fell to The College of St. Scholastica by a final score of 7-2 and Russell Sage College by a score of 4-1. With the pair of losses, the Bulldogs drop to 1-5 on the year.

-It didn't take Dean long to respond. Maddy Berrette (Hope Valley, R.I.) launched a crucial single, forcing an error and allowing Ashlee Mastrodomenico (Middleboro, Mass.) to score. By the middle of the second frame, the game was tied 1-1.
-However, it was at this point where the Saints took control of the score. They scored again in the bottom half of the second off an RBI double from Anna Azure, giving them a 2-1 lead.
-The Saints then scored three more runs in the fifth inning, all of which from RBIs. At the end of the fifth, St. Scholastica had a four-run advantage over the Bulldogs.

-St. Scholastica scored one more in the sixth inning to take the win by a final score of 7-2

-Dean put the pressure on the Gators through the early frames. Emily Yazzetti (Mahopac, N.Y.) drew a walk in the second, eventually stealing second to put herself in scoring position. However, a strikeout negated the opportunity, keeping the game scoreless.
-Defensively, Bryce DeGasparre (Attleboro, Mass.) continued to produce in the pitcher's circle. She held the Gators to just one hit through the first two innings.
-However, Russell Sage finally broke through in the top of the third. Annalise Taylor drove in the game's first run on an RBI single, making it 1-0 Gators. The Bulldogs ended the offensive charge with an impressive throw by Liana Silva (New Britain, Conn.) She caught Bella Julian stealing on an impressive effort to her sister Xandra Silva (New Britain, Conn.).
-Russell sage scored another on an RBI hit by Emma Heartquist. However, Dean quickly negated this effort with a run of their own. Sydnee Ramos (New Bedford, Mass.) picked up the RBI that allowed Emily Kilpatrick (Marion, Mass.) to score. It was now 2-1 at the end of the fifth.
-DeGasparre continued to shove, but the Gators ultimately got the upper hand. They scored one more run in each of the last to innings to make it 4-1. The bulldogs were retired in the bottom half, giving Russell Sage the final 4-1 victory.
