FRANKLIN, Mass. – Sophomore goalkeeper
Noah Amaral (Westport, Mass.) continued his impressive season, recording his fifth draw and first shutout of the season to help the Dean College men's soccer team grab a point against Norwich University on Monday. With the 0-0 score, Dean moves to 0-6-5 (0-3-4 GNAC), while the Cadets shift to 6-2-2 (3-1-1 GNAC).
How it Happened:
-As a team, the Bulldogs limited Norwich to just six shots on goal despite the Cadets holding a 17-5 advantage in total shots.
-Dean's best offensive opportunities came from
Shawn Kalunga (Fall River, Mass.), who recorded two shots.
Nate Beturne (Ellington, Conn.) and
Austin Clark (Albuquerque, N.M.) each posted on shot.
Victor Nunez Saravia (Amherst, Mass.) also put a shot on frame for the Bulldogs.
-Dean's defense remained composed throughout the second half, making five blocks after the break to preserve the shutout.
-The highlight of the match came in the final thirty seconds. Defenseman
Ethan Zigler (Lake Worth, Fla.) rushed back to cover a Norwich breakaway towards the box, and on a sliding effort, blocked the potential game-winning goal. His efforts kept the game at zero and secured Dean's point.
