New Haven, CT- The Dean College softball team fell in their final road series of the 2025 season to Albertus Magnus College. The pair of Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) losses now put softball at 9-19 (2-12) on the season, while the Falcons move to 24-14.
Game One: Albertus Magnus College 4, Dean College 0
The Bulldogs were unable to get on the board in game one, being shutout by a final score of 4-0. The Falcons took a quick 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, scoring three runs off back-to-back doubles and an error. However, the Bulldogs were able to keep them quite for the next five innings. Starting pitcher
Bryce DeGasparre (Attleboro, MA) mowed through the lineup, striking out two while allowing just eight hits on the day. However, the Bulldogs' bats could not come alive, rounding up just five hits. The Falcons added one more run in the sixth to take the game by a final score of 4-0.
Offensively,
Liana Silva (New Britain, CT) led the way for Dean, posting two hits in game one. The additional players nothced one hit each for the Bulldogs.
Game Two: Albertus Magnus College 7, Dean College 2
It would be the Falcons striking first again, getting out to a 2-0 lead in the third inning. However, the Bulldgos finally broke their fast in the fourth, tying the game at two.
Emily Kilpatrick (Marion, MA) recorded an RBI single, allowing L. Silva to score. Shortly after,
Xandra Silva (New Britain, CT) hit another RBI single, bringing DeGasparre across the plate. However, the Falcons would take the lead again in the bottom half.
Albertus Magnus would not look back after taking the lead, scoring four more runs in the fifth inning to take the ballgame by a final score of 7-2.
Natalie Hayes (Brewster, NY) took the loss in th circle, falling to 3-3 on the year. Offensively, Kilpatrick and
Katrina Lee (Brookline, NH) took the lead for Dean, recording two hits each. X. Silva, L. SIlva, and
Sydnee Ramos (New Bedford, MA) all earned one hit each.
The Bulldogs play in their final series of the season this Sunday at 12:00 and 2:00PM, hosting Mitchell College in their Senior Day celebration. Senior Day festivities will begin at approximately 11:45AM.
