Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's Basketball Sweeps the Weekend With Sunday Victory Over BSC Buffalo, 81-77

Franklin, MA- The Dean College Men's Basketball team completed a week-long sweep on Sunday afternoon, defeating Bryant & Stratton College - Buffalo by a final score of 81-77. With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 6-3 on the season, while the Bobcats drop to 4-3.

Noteworthy Marks:
-In the game's first half, senior guard Christian Yeates (Atlanta, GA) scored his 1,000th career point off a steal-and-score. Yeates is now the second player this week to score his 1,000th point. Xavier Boyd (Loganville, GA) reached the milestone on Saturday.

How it Happened:
-The Bobcats would be the first team to get on the board, scoring four unanswered points in a flash. However, it wouldn't take the Bulldogs long to fight back. Both Naser Motley (Everett, WA) and Yeates would score in the paint, tying it at four points each.
-Points would be closely exchanged through the opening eight minutes, with BSC ultimately controlling offensively. However, the tide turned at the 11:24 mark in the first half. Motley would strike again, this time on a deep-three pointer to take the lead. The Bulldogs now had the advantage 14-12.
-Towards the end of the half, Yeates would seize his opportunity. The senior would snag a quick steal on the defensive side of the court, eventually driving the other way to score on a layup. This would be his 1,000th career point, making the score 27-20 in favor of Dean.
-Dean would continue to lead throughout the rest of the frame, going into the locker room with the score 38-30. The Bulldogs would see strong contributions from Boyd, Yeates, and first-year Max Shosa (Manchester, NH). Both Cedric Louis (Miami, FL) and Randy Vasquez (Methuen, MA) would also prove to be crucial inside the paint throughout the final minutes of the half.
-Bryant & Stratton would mount a comeback in the second half, outscoring the Bulldogs 47-43.
-Dean would continue their offensive ways to open the latter frame, with Vasquez knocking down back-to-back scores. Yeates would also drill another three-pointer in the first minutes.
-The Bulldogs would see a lead as high as 16 points in the second half, winning 57-41 with 13 minutes left to-play.
-However, the Bobcats would begin to claw their way back in the final five minutes. BSC would get as close as three points, converting on a triple-point effort by Taron Benton. Dean only led 80-77 with less than 20 seconds to-go.
-Dean would quickly regroup and eventually seal the game in the final seconds. CJ Riley (Yonkers, NY) would draw a crucial foul, eventually converting on a three-throw to make it a two-score game. Bryant & Stratton would be forced to travel the length of the court twice on order to tie.
-With six seconds left, BSC's Massai Graham missed the needed layup, and Dean would seal the win by a final score of 81-77.
