Franklin, MA- In a special morning game, the Dean College Field Hockey team plowed their way to victory over Regis College by a final score of 8-0. With the win, Dean now improves to 8-6 (4-1 GNAC) on the year, while Regis drops to 3-8 (1-5 GNAC).
How it Happened:
-Dean wasted no time going on the attack in the opening quarter.
Emily Yazzetti (Mahopac, NY) would get the first chance, followed by shots from
Sydnee Ramos (New Bedford, MA) and
Jordan Boelig (Tilton, NH).
-After Ramos laid two more shots on-goal,
Alexyss Baird (Lisbon Falls, ME) would net her first career goal off a feed from
Emily Kilpatrick (Marion, MA). Dean would lead it 1-0 at the end of the first.
-Regis would opened the second quarter with two quick shots. However, Dean would begin their scoring barrage here. Yazzetti scored first with a goal at 19:41, followed by Kilpatrick at 23:04 (assisted by Ramos). Ramos would net a goal of her own at 26:09, from Yazzetti, to put Dean up 4-0 going into the half.
-After a pair of penalty corners and eight different shots, the Bulldogs would continue their scoring raid. Ramos would connect again from Yazzetti, adding to Dean's lead (5-0).
-Just over four minutes later, Yazzetti would score her second unassisted goal of the contest. Dean now led 6-0 at this point and would carry it into the fourth quarter.
-52 seconds into the fourth, Kilpatrick found the back of the net off a close tip in front of the cage. Yazzetti would get her third assist here.
-Dean held firm control of the rest of the game, capped off by a hat trick goal from Ramos. Yazzetti would record her fourth assist and seal the impressive 8-0 victory.
Noteworthy Marks:
-Dean has now outscored opponents 17-3 in the last three games.
-Yazzetti now has eight assists in the last two games, scoring four in each.
-Ramos has scored a total of 10 goals and 23 total points since September 25th.
