Football Defeated in War of Attrition with Worcester State, 27-52

Worcester, MA- The Dean College Football team scored another single-game high this season in points, but ultimately fell short on Saturday afternoon versus Worcester State University by a final score of 27-52. How it Happened & Scoring Summary:

1st Quarter, 10:04 – Similar to last week, the bulldogs would be the first to strike. Quarterback J'Shaun Reddin (Norfolk, VA) drives the offense 62 yards in six plays and caps it with a 20-yard strike to Dylan Ayotte (Millville, MA). This would be Ayotte's first career touchdown, and with the extra point by Pato Flores (San Antonio. TX), it gave Dean a quick 7-0 lead.

1st Quarter, 4:51 – WSU Quarterback MJ Bakaysa fires a 20-yard touchdown pass to Lance Williams over six plays (44 yards). Kicker Louie Freitas makes the PAT to tie the game at 7-7.

1st Quarter, 2:16 – After a four-play, 50-yard drive, Jermaine Norfleet Jr. punches it in from one yard out. Freitas converts, and the Lancers take a 14-7 lead.

1st Quarter, 0:58 – Almost immediately, Worcester capitalizes once more. From seven yards out and in only three plays, Bakaysa finds Lance Williams for another touchdown. Freitas keeps the PAT streak going; Worcester leads 21-7.

2nd Quarter, 8:12 – The Bulldogs would have their response in the second quarter. Reddin engineers a nine-play, 80-yard drive, and connects with Tay Sholtz (Liverpool, NY) on a 9-yard scoring pass. Flores' kick is good and it's now 21-14 in favor of Worcester.

2nd Quarter, 4:27 – Worcester responds: Bakaysa drives the Lancers 62 yards in eight plays and finds Jack Poirier on a 25-yard touchdown. Freitas adds the PAT and Worcester extends the lead to 28-14.

2nd Quarter, 3:57 – Just five seconds later, Worcester strikes again with a one-play, 20-yard touchdown pass from Bakaysa to Williams. Freitas' kick keeps the streak alive; the Lancers now lead 35-14.

2nd Quarter, 2:59 – On a three-play, 73-yard drive, Reddin launches a 69-yard touchdown pass to Sholtz. Flores' extra point is good and Dean trails 35-21 going into the half.

3rd Quarter, 10:37 – Worcester reasserts control. Bakaysa connects with Joey Christian for a 33-yard touchdown as part of a five-play, 73-yard drive. Freitas boots the point after, pushing the lead to 42-21.

3rd Quarter, 5:49 – Worcester adds a field goal: Freitas hits a 30-yard attempt, making it 45-21.

3rd Quarter, 1:32 – The Lancers finish the quarter strong. Bakaysa hits Aidan Breen on a 25-yard pass after a six-play, 41-yard drive. Freitas' PAT good. Worcester now leads 52-21.

4th Quarter, 0:52 – Late in the game, Dean solidies a new single-game high on the season. With quarterback Nick Levine (Brockton, MA) in, Dean drives 95 yards in 17 plays and finishes with a 13-yard pass to Dylan Ayotte. The PAT fails, making it 52-27.
