Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Women's Volleyball Falls To ECSU, 3-0

FRANKLIN, Mass.- The Dean College Bulldogs women's volleyball team dropped a non-conference contest, 3-0 to the Eastern Connecticut State Warriors on Wedneday at Pieri Gym in Franklin, Mass. The loss snaps a two-game win streak for the Bulldogs and sinks their record to 4-7 overall. Eastern Connecticut improves to 6-4.

The Warriors controlled the opening set, jumping out to a 4-1 lead and maintaining a grip on the action throughout, cruising to a 25-14 set victory.  The second set was much closer, a back and forth game that was tied at 23, 24, 25, and 26, before ECSU scored the final two points to take a 2-0 lead. The third set featured a strong start from the visitors, and a rally from the Bulldogs that eventually fell short as the Warriors cruised to a 25-12 victory.

Dean was led by first-year Maddy Seymour (Simsbury, Conn.) who finished with eight kills and five digs. Sophomore Chloe Demaio (Medfield, Mass.) had five kills, two blocks, and three digs to anchor the front line, while junior Skylar Raskevitz (Easthampton, Mass.), fresh off a GNAC weekly award recognition, registered 16 digs and added three assists. Senior setter Anabella Driscoll (Plymouth, Mass.) contributed 21 assists. Senior Janai Price (Providence, R.I.) filled up the stat sheet with five kills, nine digs, and one block.

Dean is back in action again on Friday when they travel to Regis College for a 5 p.m. Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match-up.
