NEW LONDON, Conn.- Senior Lisette Ayala (Chicopee, Mass.) scored two goals, fellow senior Jazlyn Estrella (Coventry, R.I.) added another, and the Dean College Bulldogs shutout the Mitchell Mariners, 3-0 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Wednesday afternoon.  The win was head coach Allie Bezio's first of her career. Dean improves to 2-5-1 (1-4-1 GNAC) on the year, while Mitchell falls to 0-6-0 (0-6-0 GNAC).

Ayala scored her first goal in the 18th minute off a feed from first-year Alyssa Caney (Holyoke, Mass.). Scoreless action ensued for the rest of the first half, and the Bulldogs entered the halftime break with a one goal lead. Dean outshot Mitchell 12-3 in the first half and had a 3-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Ayala deposited her second of the afternoon in the 56th minute, assisted this time by sophomore Kacie Consolini (Stafford Springs, Conn.).  Estrella put the game away with her second goal of the season in the 89th minute. Dean had a 27-4 total advantage in shots and a 7-2 edge in corner kicks. Mitchell's keeper Gemma Landry made 14 stops in the losing effort.
