FRANKLIN, Mass. – April 6, 2024 – The Dean College softball team fell to Albertus Magnus 13-1 (5 inn.) and 4-0 in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) South Division doubleheader on Saturday.
Dean (0-12, 0-2 GNAC South) has a quick turnaround with a Sunday doubleheader at Mitchell beginning at noon. Albertus Magnus improves to 9-10 overall and 2-0 in the GNAC South.
GAME ONE – Albertus Magnus 13, Dean 1 (5 inn.)
Sophomore
Leah Chamberlain (Burlington, Vt.) was one of three Bulldogs with a hit, and she scored the team's lone run on a wild pitch.
Albertus Magnus scored nine times in the second inning and never looked back. The Falcons added a run in the third and three in the fourth.
Alexis Enjem and Amanda Savinelli each went 2-for-3 with three RBIs.
GAME TWO – Albertus Magnus 4, Dean 0
The Falcons scored all the game's runs in the second inning crossing the plate four times. Skylar Arent had the big hit with a 2-run double.
First-year
Alyssa Ribarovski (Sydney, Australia) went 2-for-2 with a walk to lead the Dean hitters.
Junior
Jessica Stewart (Banks, Ore.) pitched well for the Bulldogs. She tossed a complete game and surrendered just one earned run.
