PROVIDENCE, R.I. – April 23, 2024 – The Dean College women's lacrosse team was defeated by Johnson & Wales, 20-3, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) South Division season finale on Tuesday.
Dean finishes the season with a 3-12 overall record, a 2-9 record in GNAC action and a 2-5 mark in the South Division. JWU (12-4, 10-1 GNAC, 7-0 South) earned the top seed in the division and a spot in the postseason.
Junior
Natalie Peterson (Hudson, Mass.), sophomore
Emma Mock (Tunkhannock, Pa) and sophomore
Alisha Caldeira (West Bridgewater, Mass.) each scored a goal for the Bulldogs. Junior
Nina Medeiros (Fairhaven, Mass.) led the team with five draw controls.
Sophomore
Allie Stockwell (Burrillville, R.I.) had seven saves for the Bulldogs. Emma Glyman made five saves to earn the win for JWU.
Senior Katie Sloan led all players with five goals and four assists for the Wildcats. Maris DiBeneditto scored six times, while sophomore Izzy Babb posted six points on two goals and four assists. Junior Isabella Nugent tallied a game best seven draw controls and added a goal and an assist.
The Wildcats scored six goals in the first, eight in the second and three goals in the third and fourth quarters.
Dean scored twice in the first and once in the fourth.
