Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Dean Edged by Elms, 13-9

FRANKLIN, Mass. – March 30, 2024 – The Dean College women's lacrosse team was edged by Elms, 13-9, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) South Division contest Saturday afternoon at Grant Field.

Dean (1-7, 0-4 GNAC, 0-1 South) is slated to play at Albertus Magnus on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in a South Division matchup. Elms (2-2, 2-1, GNAC, 1-0 South) hosts Norwich on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Sophomore Emma Mock (Tunkhannock, Pa.) had a team-high three points on two goals and an assist for Dean. First-year Caroline Ramsey (Shreveport, La.) and junior Haley Gaunt (Johnston, R.I.) had two goals apiece. Junior Natalie Peterson (Hudson, Mass.) had a goal, an assist and four draw controls.

Elms received a game best five goals from senior Elisa Paier (West Springfield, Mass.). First-year Rachel Dort (Chicopee, Mass.) was next with a hat trick. Sophomore Jackie Cronin (Smithtown, N.Y.) posted a game-high seven points on two goals and five assists.

Senior Gianna Liquori (East Longmeadow, Mass.) earned the win with 14 saves for Elms. Dean sophomore goalie Allie Stockwell (Burrillville, R.I.) collected seven saves in the loss.

The game was tied 4-4 after the opening 15 minutes. Paier netted a hat trick to lead Elms in the frame, while Mock scored both of her goals for Dean.

After Paier put Elms on top early in the second, Gaunt and junior Nina Medeiros (Fairhaven, Mass.) scored for Dean for a 6-5 lead for the home team. The Blazers answered with two goals of their own for a 7-6 lead before Ramsey notched the equalizer with 5:55 on the clock to make the game 7-7 at the half.

The visitors outscored Dean 4-2 in the third and tacked on two more goals in the fourth to pull away late for the 13-9 victory.
