STANDISH, Maine – March 16, 2024 – The Dean College women's lacrosse team fell at Saint Joseph's College of Maine, 18-2, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) contest Saturday afternoon.
Dean (1-4, 0-2 GNAC) returns to action next Saturday when the team travels to New England College. Saint Joseph's improves to 6-2 overall and 2-0 in the GNAC.
Junior
Nina Medeiros (Fairhaven, Mass.) and first-year
Caroline Ramsey (Shreveport, La.) each had a goal for the Bulldogs. Medeiros added seven ground balls, six draw controls and three caused turnovers.
Dean sophomore goalie
Allie Stockwell (Burrillville, R.I.) made six saves in the loss. She was also credited with seven ground balls.
The Monks had a balanced scoring attack with Mackenzie Siebert leading the way with four goals. Three other players found the back of the net three times, while Bridget Collins came away with six points on a goal and five assists.
Saint Joseph's scored six times in the first and second quarters to lead 12-0 at the half. The Monks added four more in the third. Each team registered two goals in the fourth to account for the 18-2 final.
