Dean Defeated by King’s

FRANKLIN, Mass. – February 9, 2024 - The Dean College men's volleyball team was defeated by King's 3-0 in non-conference action Friday night. The Monarchs won by scores of 25-14, 25-8 and 25-10.

Dean (1-5) resumes conference action next Thursday with a 7 p.m. first serve at Rivier. King's (7-0) will play a doubleheader at Fisher tomorrow beginning at noon.

Sophomore Arthur Felicio (Governador Valadares, Brazil) had a team best six kills for Dean. Senior Aaron Fonseca (West Warwick, R.I.) was next with four kills. Sophomore Hunter Armitage (Westerly, R.I.) tallied 10 assists and three kills. First-year Luis Castillo (Houston, Texas) picked up a match-high 10 digs.

King's was led by a 9-kill effort from sophomore Greg Bousquet (Greene, R.I.). He hit .421 and added a couple of blocks. First-year Logan Dougherty (Emmaus, Pa.) hit .556 to finish with six kills. Sophomore setter Ben Maskiell (Emmaus, Pa.) ran the offense with 22 assists.

The Monarchs hit .375 with 12 kills to take the first set 25-14. Felicio had a set-high five kills for the Bulldogs.

King's took a 2-0 lead with a 25-8 victory in the second set. The visitors had just seven kills but hit .462. Armitage posted three kills for Dean.

In the final set, King's came away with a 25-10 triumph thanks to 13 kills on .600 hitting. Bousquet added five kills to his total to lead the balanced attack of the Monarchs. Fonseca registered three kills to lead Dean.
