FRANKLIN, Mass. – February 17, 2024 – The Dean College men's basketball team fell to Saint Joseph's (Maine), 106-68, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) regular season finale for both teams.

Dorien Ruffin (Pinetops, N.C.),
Jayden Madise (Palmdale, Calif.),
Akili Prince (St. George, Utah),
Charles Walker (Princeton, N.C.) and
Gio Memnon (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) for their years of hard work and dedication to the men's basketball program.
Despite the loss, the Bulldogs (9-16, 5-9 GNAC) earned a spot in the GNAC Tournament as the 10th seed and will travel to seventh seed Regis (13-12, 8-6 GNAC) on Monday for a play-in game. Dean defeated Regis in Franklin on Dec. 2 in overtime 91-90. Saint Joseph's (16-9, 12-2 GNAC) earns the third seed in next week's tournament.
Weston finished with a team best 16 points for Dean. Sophomore
Moussa Berete (Richmond, Va.) was next with 12 points. Madise recorded his eighth double-double of the season with 11 points and 15 rebounds. Memnon scored seven points.
Sophomore John Paul Frazier (York, Maine) led all players with 20 points for the Monks. First-year Remijo Wani (Portland, Maine) notched a double-double of 19 points and 15 rebounds. Ashtyn Abbott (Farmingdale, Maine) contributed 16 points, seven boards and five assists. Sophomore Ben Seiler (Enfield, N.H.) rounded out the double figure scorers with 14 points off the bench.
The Monks shot 54.4% from the floor and made 14 three-pointers for the game. Dean shot 33.3% from the floor and made six treys.
Dean raced out to a 6-0 lead, but Saint Joseph's withstood the run and took control to take a 51-25 lead at the half. The Monks continued to shoot the ball efficiently in the second half to a tune of 57.5% from the floor and 45% from beyond the arc to increase their advantage.
