BOSTON, Mass.- The Dean College Bulldogs women's basketball squad defeated Fisher College 93-49 on Wednesday, recording a third straight win to improve their overall record to 5-3.
The Bulldogs were led by their high scoring duo, seniors
Tori Viau (Johnston, R.I.) and
Alexandria Paquet (Santa Maria, Calif.), who recorded 29 and 21 points, respectively.
Dean led 20-11 after the first period, guided by six points a piece from Viau and Paquet despite a combined 1-11 shooting effort. Viau exploded for 11 in the second quarter, shooting 4-13 from the field, while first-year
Nevaeh Smith (Springfield, Mass.) scored eight points off the bench. The Bulldogs entered the halftime break leading 47-23.
Dean stepped on the gas in the third quarter, outscoring the Falcons by 18 (29-11) to put a stranglehold on the contest. Viau and Paquet both recorded eight points in the period while
Kendrah Doane (New Salem, Mass.) pitched in seven. The Bulldogs coasted down the stretch to earn the big win, 93-49.
Viau's 29 points were her second highest total this year, trailing only her season opening 37 against Mount Holyoke. Paquet's 21 point performance was her second-best after her 21 point game against Lesley. Smith finished with 11 points, while Doane had 10 and sophomore
Abi Boutin (Rocky Hill, Conn.) scored eight.
Dean (5-3) is back in action on Saturday when they open Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play with a home contest against Mitchell at 1 p.m.
