MILTON, Mass.- The Dean College Bulldogs women's basketball team fell to Curry College, 91-51 on Tuesday night in non-conference action. The loss drops Dean to 2-3 on the year, while the Curry improves to 2-1,
 The first quarter was tightly contested, with back and forth action throughout the stanza. Senior
Tori Viau (Johnston, R.I.) started the game red-hot for the Bulldogs, scoring 10 points on 4-4 shooting, including 2-2 from three point range. Senior Marana Courneyor (Millville, Mass.) added five points in the opening frame, as well, and Dean trailed the Colonels 20-18 after one.
Curry outscored the Bulldogs 22-12 in the second quarter to put some distance between the squads, entering the halftime break with a 12 point lead. The hosts broke open the game in the third quarter, outscoring the Bulldogs 27-6 and holding Dean to 27 percent from the field. All six of the Bulldog's third quarter points came from first-year
Nevaeh Smith (Springfield, Mass.). In the fourth quarter, Curry outscored Dean 22-15, cruising to a 91-51 win.
Viau led the Bulldogs with 15 points. Smith added 14 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore
Kendrah Doane (New Salem, Mass.) recorded six points while pitching in nine rebounds. Curry scored 41 points off turnovers to Dean's 9, and held 48-12 advantage on points in the paint. The Bulldogs shot 35% from the field, to the Colonels 45%.Â
Dean is back in action on Saturday when they host Wentworth at 3:00 p.m. as part of a doubleheader with men's basketball.Â
