BIDDEFORD, Maine- The Dean College football team fell to the University of New England on Saturday, 68-0 in non-conference action on the blue synthetic turf at Blue Storm Stadium. Dean falls to 0-4 on the year, while UNE improves to 2-3.
The hosts wasted no time jumping out to an advantage, scoring 22 points in the first quarter, and 23 more in the second quarter to take a commanding 45-0 halftime lead. The Nor'Easters added on 23 more points in the second half for the final tally.
UNE was led by quarterback
Chris Lang, who threw for 210 yards and three touchdowns on 14-18 passing.
Shane Laporte had two rushing touchdowns, while
Jeremy Barton, Will Stafford, and
Damien Jones all added one. Jones added a receiving touchdown as well.
Dean's rushing attack was led by
Brayden Prasse (San Antonio, Texas), who finished with 36 yards on the ground. First-year
Elijah Walker (Upper Marlboro, Md.) led the defense, registering 11 tackles.
