FRANKLIN, Mass.- The Dean College Bulldogs women's volleyball team defeated Elms College 3-1 on Friday Night in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action in front of a loud home crowd on Homecoming Weekend in Pieri Gym. The win is Dean's second straight, and fourth in their last five matches.
The Bulldogs took a strong lead in the opening set and looked to be cruising to victory, but the Blazers rallied from a 13-5 deficit to take the first set 25-21. Dean bounced back in the second set, controlling the action late with a four point run that broke open a 17-all tie, and led to a 25-22 win. Chloe Demaio (Needham, Mass.) The Bulldogs rolled in the final set, taking a 19-9 lead and cruising to a 25-14 victory.
Demaio led the Bulldogs with 10 kills on 23 attacks.
Caitlin Cooper (Amherst, N.H.) added six kills and three solo blocks.
Janai Price (Providence, R.I.) and
Emily Ball (Feeding Hills, Mass.) contributed nine and eight kills respectively.
Anabella Driscoll (Plymouth, Mass.), honored before the game for her career assists record, recorded 26 assists while adding 11 digs. Junior
Skylar Raskevitz (Easthampton, Mass.) had a team-leading 12 digs.Â
Dean (9-11 overall, 5-4 GNAC) is back in action on Tuesday at Simmons University at 7 p.m.Â
