NEW LONDON, Conn.- Senior setter
Anabella Driscoll (Plymouth, Mass.) registered a season-high 33 assists, and the Dean College Bulldogs rolled to a 3-0 win over Mitchell College on Saturday.
Dean led 19-10 in the first set, before a Mitchell timeout helped the Mariners to regroup and close the gap. The hosts cut the deficit to 22-16, but Dean responded with three of the next five points to put the first game away, punctuated by two kills by sophomore
Chloe Demaio (Medfield, Mass.). Mitchell took an initial lead in the second set, up 10-6 before a Bulldog run of five straight points flipped the advantage. The set was neck and neck from there on, with Dean clipping the Mariners 26-24 after late kills from first-year
Maddy Seymour (Simsbury, Conn.) and sophomore
Caitlin Cooper (Amherst, N.H.). Dean controlled the final set, winning 25-18.
Seymour led the Bulldogs with a double-double, posting 13 kills and 11 digs. Demaio added eight kills and five blocks, while
Emily Ball (Feeding HIlls, Mass.) and
Emily Larouche (Agawam, Mass.) both had four kills and ten and nine digs respectively. Junior
