NEW HAVEN, Conn.- The Dean College Bulldogs earned a hard fought 3-0 victory over Albertus Magnus on Tuesday, prevailing 3-0 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play on Tuesday evening. The win improves the Bulldogs to 5-8 (1-1 GNAC) while the Falcons drop to 6-8 (1-4 GNAC).
Dean jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the opening set, but Albertus battled back, and a tight contest ensued throughout the frame. A kill from senior
Janai Price (Providence, R.I.) capped the victory, 25-23, to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead. In the second frame, Dean again jumped out to an early lead, only to see the hosts come all the way back to tie it at 14. From there, it was back and forth, tied at 17 and 19. The Bulldogs took control down the stretch, however, with junior
Skylar Raskevtiz (Easthampton, Mass.) controlling the serve, scoring the final six points of the set, capped by a Raskevitz ace on the penultimate point, to take a 2-0 lead. In the final set, the Bulldogs took control early and never looked back, racing to a 25-15 win and a 3-0 victory.
Dean was led by Price, who finished with 10 kills on 15 attacks, while adding four digs. First-year
