STANDISH, Maine – September 5, 2023 – The Dean College men's soccer team was edged by Saint Joseph's (Maine), 1-0, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opener for both teams.

Dean (1-1, 0-1 GNAC) hosts Fitchburg State on Thursday at 4 p.m. Saint Joseph's (1-1-1, 1-0 GNAC) will host Johnson & Wales on Saturday 4:30 p.m.

The lone goal of the contest came in the 78th minute off the foot of Diego Robinson.

Sophomore goalie Jake Godwin (Norwalk, Conn.) made five saves for the Bulldogs. Liam Foley picked up the clean sheet stopping both shots he faced.

The Monks held an 11-4 advantage in shots and a 10-2 margin in corner kicks.
