PROVIDENCE, R.I. – April 8, 2023 - The Dean College softball team fell to Johnson & Wales in both games of a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Saturday doubleheader. The Wildcats won won 8-0 and 9-0.
Dean will look to rebound next Saturday at home against Regis.
GAME ONE: JWU 8, Dean 0 (6 inn.)
JWU scored three times in the second and four times in the fifth. The Wildcats then plated the game-ending run in the bottom of the sixth on a Mady Lyons RBI single.
Lyons finished 4 for 4 with two RBIs to lead the Wildcats. Jadyn Torres knocked in four on a couple of hits.
First-year
Sydnee Ramos (New Bedford, Mass.) went 3 for 3 to lead the Dean hitters.
GAME TWO: JWU 9, Dean 0 (5 inn.)
The Wildcats struck again in the second of game two, this time for two runs. JWU then erupted to score seven runs on five hits and two errors in the fourth to take a 9-0 lead. Mackenzie Clee game in for the fifth and retired the Bulldogs to secure the victory.

Alex Marie (Danvers, Mass.) had two of the Bulldogs' five hits in the game.
