NEW HAVEN, Conn.- October 7, 2023- The Dean College women's soccer team fell 1-0 to Albertus Magnus on Saturday in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play at Celentano Field.

Dean falls to 4-6-2 (3-5-2 GNAC) with the loss, while Albertus Magnus improves to 5-4-3 (4-3-2 GNAC). 

In a tight matchup that was scoreless for the first half, Albertus Magnus broke through in the 59th minute on a goal off the foot of Erina Ismaili, assisted by Tyler Stocking. 
The Falcons outshot the Bulldogs 16-10 and held a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks. 

Dean was led by junior goalkeeper Haley Gaunt (Johnston, R.I.) who finished with seven saves and one goal allowed in 90 minutes of action. The Bulldogs registered two shots on goal from Jazzy Sztyler-Magee (Burlington, Conn.), and one each from Nina Medeiros (Fairhaven, Mass.), Kacie Consolini (Stafford Springs, Conn.), Lea Bettencourt (Peabody, Mass.), and Jazlyn Estrella (Coventry, R.I). 

Dean returns to action on Wednesday at Johnson and Wales for a 7 p.m. kickoff. Albertus Magnus will host Simmons on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
