FRANKLIN, Mass. – October 20, 2023 – The Dean College women's volleyball team was defeated by Simmons, 3-0, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) contest Friday night during homecoming weekend. The Sharks won by scores of 25-18, 25-17 and 25-20.

Dean (6-17, 2-7 GNAC) travels to Elms tomorrow for a tri-match against the Blazers and Regis. Simmons (13-7, 9-0 GNAC) hosts a tri-match on Saturday against Lasell and Clark.

Junior Janai Price (Providence, R.I.) and sophomore Caitlin Cooper (Amherst, N.H.) led Dean with five kills apiece. Cooper hit .385, while Price added 10 digs and a couple of blocks. Senior Sari Albury (Nassau, Bahamas) hit .333 for 4 kills to go with three blocks. Sophomore Skylar Raskevitz (Easthampton, Mass.) also picked up 10 digs.

Simmons was led by senior Jayla Parnell (Oregon City, Ore.) who recorded 11 kills, 10 digs and three aces. Senior Claire Conners (Albany, Calif.) hit. 389 for nine kills, while Chelsea Simmons (Newton, Mass.) chipped in eight kills, 12 digs and 14 assists.
