WESTON, Mass. – October 14, 2023 – The Dean College men's soccer team was edged by Regis, 1-0, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Saturday afternoon.

The Bulldogs (8-3-2, 6-3-2 GNAC) will look to rebound on Tuesday with a 3 p.m. home match against Emmanuel. Regis (3-9, 3-8 GNAC) hosts Colby-Sawyer on Monday for a rescheduled match against the Chargers at 7 p.m.

After a scoreless first half, the home team struck less than a minute into the second. Stephen Allsopp II (Medford, Mass.) sent a long throw-in into the box where Riley Stogsdill (San Diego, Calif.) redirected the ball into the net for the lone goal of the contest.

The Bulldogs had a few promising opportunities as the second half went on, but each chance was denied by the Pride goalie.

Senior Alberto Gonzalez Del Rio (Madrid, Spain) took his first loss of the season, falling to 7-1-1 in net for the Bulldogs. He allowed one goal and made four saves. Regis keeper Ethan Donahue earned the clean sheet with six saves.

Dean held an 8-4 advantage in corner kicks, while Regis finished with a 15-12 margin in shots.
