Dean Football Student-Athletes Recognized by the ECFC

KILLINGWORTH, Conn. – January 26, 2023 – The Dean College football team had 29 student-athletes recognized by the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) for academic excellence.

The conference bestows two academic honors annually: the ECFC All-Academic Team and the ECFC Academic Honor Roll. Full ECFC release > HERE

To be eligible for the ECFC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher following the 2022 fall semester. Additionally, all honorees must be at least a sophomore in standing with a minimum two years of participation on the football team.

All seven ECFC institutions had honorees named to the All-Academic Team, with 94 student-athletes in total recognized.

The Bulldogs had 13 student-athletes appear on the All-Academic Team. Justin Tucker (Sr., Salisbury, Md.) a Psychology major, was honored for the third year in a row.  

Enrico Hernandez (Sr., Cypress, Calif. – Sport Management) and Owen Jalbert (Jr., Oakville, Conn. – Sport Management) earned a nod to the All-Academic Team for the second consecutive year.

In addition, the following Bulldogs garnered All-Academic Team accolades for the first time:

Berto Maldonado (So., Boston, Mass.) – Business Management – (2022 Honor Roll)
Darren McDermott (So., Danvers, Mass.) – Business Management – (2022 Honor Roll)
Adam Noiseux (Sr., Fall River, Mass.) – Criminal Justice and Homeland Security – (2019, 2022 Honor Roll)
Noah Pearson (So., Tilton, N.H.) – Sport Management – (2022 Honor Roll)
Rocco Schirripa (So., Peabody, Mass.) – Athletic Coaching and Recreation Management – (2022 Honor Roll)
Griffin Sullivan (So., Colchester, Conn.) – Communications – (2022 Honor Roll)
 
The ECFC Academic Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes that achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher following the 2022 fall semester. Further, freshmen and first-year transfer student-athletes are eligible for the recognition.
In total, 155 student-athletes from all seven member institutions earned Academic Honor Roll recognition.
