BOSTON, Mass. - September 3, 2022 - The Dean College men's soccer team dropped a non-conference match at Emerson, 3-0, Saturday evening at Rotch Field. 

The Bulldogs (1-1) resume action on Wednesday with a 7 p.m. road game at Fitchburg State. Emerson (1-0-1) plays at Trinity (Conn.) on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Emerson scored a pair of goals in the first half and added another in the third for the 3-0 victory.

Freshman Chris Moulinos got the home team on the board in the seventh minute. The Lions doubled their lead in the 26th minute on a goal from senior Skyler Start Ragsdale.

In the 65th minute, Emerson added an insurance goal off the foot of Connor Donovan. 

Dean had a great scoring chance, two minutes later, when Emerson committed a foul in the box resulting in a penalty kick. The Lions goalie was up to the task and made the save to preserve the three-goal advantage.  

Dean freshman goalie Jake Godwin (Norwalk, Conn.) took the loss with three goals allowed and seven saves. Ethan Fitzsimmons earned the clean sheet with five saves for the Lions. 

First-year Brian Allen (Fort Lauderdale, Fla) led the Bulldogs with a couple of shots on target.
