NASHUA, N.H. – September 24, 2022 - The Dean College men's soccer team earned a 2-1 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) road win at Rivier on Saturday.
Dean (4-2-1, 2-1-1 GNAC) returns home on Wednesday to host Norwich at 3:30 p.m. Rivier (3-3-1, 0-3 GNAC) travels to Colby-Sawyer on Wednesday.
The Raiders began the scoring in the 11th minute when Cody Sicard (Salem, NH) sent a corner kick into the box. Jason Harlow (Naples, ME) finished the job with his team leading fifth goal of the season.
Eight minutes later, Dean found the equalizer off the foot of first-year
Melvin Alves (Brockton, Mass.). Alves was able to escape the Rivier defense and found the back of the net with his team-high fourth tally of the season.
The Bulldogs took the lead in the 40th minute and would hang on for the 2-1 victory. Junior
Bryce King (Athol, Mass.) headed a cross from junior
Seamus Doherty (Chelmsford, Mass.) into the net for the eventual game-winner.
Alberto Gonzalez Del Rio (Madrid, Spain) earned the victory with a couple of saves. Regis goalie Dominic Cunha allowed both goals and made six stops.
Dean outshot Rivier 19-7 and held a 5-1 edge in corner kicks.
