CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - September 24, 2022 - The Dean College football team suffered a 35-6 loss at MIT on Saturday afternoon at Steinbrenner Stadium.
Dean (0-4) will begin Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) action on the road next Saturday with a 5 p.m. meeting at Castleton. MIT (2-1) hosts a conference opener on Saturday against Catholic.

Darren McDermott (Danvers, Mass.) completed 10-of-31 passes for 166 yards and one interception. Junior
Mozes Mooney (San Diego, Calif.) made a game-high five catches for 132 receiving yards. Sophomore
Ryan Tigges (Burlington, Mass.) led all tacklers with 10.
MIT senior Jay Theriault (Boxford, Mass.) finished with 157 yards and three touchdowns on 24 rushes. First-year Chase Harmon (West Linn, Ore.) completed 8-of-13 passes for 109 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, graduate student Paul Calvetti (Ridgewood, N.J.) led the Engineers with eight total tackles. Sam Gozelski (East Northport, N.Y.) finished the game with four tackles, including three sacks for a loss of 26 yards.
The Bulldogs took a 6-0 advantage after scoring on the first drive of the game. A 59-yard pass connection between McDermott and Mooney gave Dean an instant red zone opportunity. Two plays later, senior Ki'Sean Bullard (Miami Gardens, Fla.) ran the ball in from five yards out.
MIT responded with a strong second quarter, scoring 21 points. Theriault had 1-yard and 3-yard touchdown runs to put the home team on top 14-7. With 16 seconds left to play in the half, the Engineers went in front 21-7 after Harmon found tight end Jonathan Berger (Vernon, N.Y.) for an 18-yard catch and score.
In the third quarter, MIT put 14 more points on the board. Theriault burst away from the Dean defense for a 54-yard touchdown run 1:28 into the frame.
The final score of the contest was Harmon's second 18-yard TD pass of the game. This time, Harmon connected with first-year Colin Vollmer (Cleveland, Ohio) to give MIT the 35-6 advantage.
