PROVIDENCE, R.I. - March 12, 2022 - The Dean College women's lacrosse team played its first Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) game of the season against reigning champs Johnson & Wales. The Wildcats prevailed by a score of 22-1.
Dean drops to 0-3 overall and 0-1 in the conference. The Bulldogs will host newest GNAC member Elms on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. JWU improves to 2-2 overall and 1-0 in the GNAC. The Wildcats host St. Joseph's (Conn.) on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
JWU raced out to a 6-0 lead before junior
Jazzy Sztyler-Magee (Burlington, Conn.) got Dean on the board. The Wildcats added to their lead with three more goals before the end of the first quarter to lead 9-1 after 15 minutes.
The home team added seven goals in the second, five in the third and one in the fourth to account for the 22-1 final.
Madeline Gould (Oakdale, Conn.) finished with four goals and four assists for JWU, while Katie Sloan (Ellicott City, Md.) posted five goals and two assists.

Nina Medeiros (Fairhaven, Mass.) picked up a team best three ground balls for Dean. Junior
Allie Bezio (Wellfleet, Mass.) caused a pair of turnovers.
